Garment Trim Quality Inspection Checklist Before Bulk Production

Check the approved reference
Before production, compare incoming or pre-production trims with the approved specification and sample. Verify product type, dimensions, colour, finish, quantity and packaging identification.
Inspect representative pieces from the relevant lot. Record the sample size and method used so the results can be understood and repeated by the team.
Test function and construction fit
Operate closures and hardware, check attachment methods, and confirm that components fit the planned garment construction. Review thread, elastic and tapes on a representative sewn sample.
Use tests that match the actual application and agreed quality requirements. Raise visible defects, inconsistent sizing or functional concerns before the line depends on the items.
Document decisions and exceptions
Record acceptance, rejection or clarification with photos, item references, batch details and the action owner. Keep approved samples and specifications accessible to procurement, quality and production.
Escalate any deviation from the agreed requirement early. A clear review process helps teams resolve questions before they affect production planning.
